Man consists of three distinct parts, a body, soul, and a spirit. Everybody understands the function of the body, but too often there is much confusion concerning the soul and spirit. By definition, the spirit is wind, air, or breath; therefore, the spirit is the breath of life. It is not a being. The soul on the other hand is a being. It is the real you. It is the inner man where thoughts, ideas, and beliefs are formed. The soul is the heart and mind of an individual. It is the part of man that thinks and makes choices. Since it is the soul that spends eternity in heaven or hell, it stands to reason that the soul is the part of an individual that makes all the decisions and choices; thereby determining one’s fate.
