Did Jesus go to hell before anyone touched him?

Question:        On Resurrection Day, Jesus told Mary not to touch him.  Did he tell her not to touch him because he was on his way to hell, to preach to the captives?

Answer:          No, He was not on His way to hell.  As soon as a person dies, his soul immediately goes to either heaven or hell.  An example of this is given in Lu. 16:22-23; “…..it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried…..and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”  Jesus’ soul went to hell immediately when he died on the cross and he remained there until Resurrection Day.  During Jesus’ visit to hell, He preached to those who had previously died; 1 Pet. 3:19, “…..preached unto the spirits in prison…..”  This is also address in 1 Pet. 4:6; “…..the gospel preached also to them that are dead…..”  When Jesus spoke to Mary on Resurrection Day, He was not on His way to hell; he had already been there.  Now, He was on His way to Galilee, to see the disciples; Mt. 28:10, “…..go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.”
