Jonah is an Old Testament book and a prophet, which means dove.
- Jonah is the 32nd book of the Bible, and it consists of 4 chapters and 48 verses. This book reveals that God's request was his command. The Lord gave Jonah a task to do, but he decided he did not want to do it. The next time God spoke to him, it became a teachable moment.
- Jonah is the son of Amittai, and he was an Old Testament prophet credited with writing the book that bears his name. God requested him to go to Nineveh to speak to the people about their wicked behavior. Jonah thought they were too corrupt and did not want to waste his time, so he decided to go elsewhere. His actions caused danger to his shipmates, so they threw him overboard. The Lord prepared a large fish to swallow him alive. From the belly of the fish, Jonah realized the error of his ways, so he called out to the Lord. The Lord heard his prayer and delivered him from the belly of the fish.
- Jonah is the name of Simon Peter's father.
